    GS850 coils - 3 OHm or 5

Looking at Dyna coils, just need a confirmation that 3-Ohm coils are ok for my gs850 as opposed to 5ohm.

Couldn't help but notice the "don't use a lower ohm coil" warning on z1enterprise site

If I remember correctly 8-[, the 5-ohm coils are for points ignitions (found on '79 and older models) and 3-ohm coils are for electronic ignitions (found on '80 and newer models).

If this is for your '83, the 3-ohm coils are what you need.

Thanks. It happens less and less frequently these days. 8-[

I had the same question a while back, i measured 4.5ohms on the "stockish" coils (junk yard replacements by the PO). By unanimous vote I went with the 3 ohm Green coils (had to use a bracket to get the coils sitting properly)... so far no problems

            Beauty - thanks guys

PO seems to have replaced one coil with a NIPPONDENSO aftermarket (???) and attempted the "dig out wire and epoxy" on the other OEM coil.

Needlesstosay I am going to go for broke and replace with Dyna
