r/r very hot
hi all for no aparant reason my freinds r/r on his gs750 just gets hot within seconds of the engine starting so hot the terminal connecter melted and the lights flicker,any one got any idea what could cause this?Tags: None

Bad earth? It can't shunt the current to ground so it's doing it through it's own circuitry & getting hot really fast (at least I think so anyhow...)
Try connecting a lead from battery negative to the ground connector on the RR. If you want to do a quick test you should be able to use a jumper cable just to see if it makes a difference.

Go to the stator papers and do a test on the r/r and stator! I just replace my stator tonight and my bike is putting out 14.5 volts now.I have'nt seen it that high ever!That's how i found out it was bad.
