gs 850 83 , White plug and Bug at 3500-4000

    gs 850 83 , White plug and Bug at 3500-4000

    Hi,

    I got a 850 83 , i love this bike but im realy tired of all the carb problem i have each year...

    Problem now are: Plug are white (all of them) and the bike seem to bug at 4000 rpm .Also my bike now eat gaz like crazy.
    Everything is sealed (airbox , intake etc..)

    My air screw is 2 turn do i need to back a bit or the oposite?

    Well, your English is much better than my French will ever be...:-D

    As for your problem with the white plugs and bogging at the tell-tale 4000RPM range...if you're sure that your carbs are clean (did you dip them and replace all the o-rings) you've got air leaks... Check all you your connections on the intake boots, at the air box and at the head. Use either WD-40 (RPM's will drop if there are leaks) or starting fluid (RPM's will rise if there are air leaks). One way or the other...you're short on fuel. Also, did you check the float level height? Another common source for a lean bike under load.

        Check you fuel petcock...I missed this the first time around. Smell the oil in the crankcase, I'll bet money that it smells like GAS!
