Putting Suzie Q back together, WTH

Well over the last few days I have been reassembling Suzie Q.
    http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...together-2.jpg

Today I torqued the head, reassembled the cams, installed the airbox and carbs. Everything spins freely the way it should.
Next I reconnected all the wires to the harness, doublechecked the connections to be sure they were right and installed the battery.

Hit the starter button-Nothing, WTH. Crossed the poles of the starter relay and she spins right over. Hmmmmmmm

Started checking continunity on wires. Continunity on wires from the kill and starter button to the first connection. 2 orange wires with white stripe, and a yellow wire with green stripe. The yellow wire carries the voltage to the relay, 12 volts at the first connection, nothing at the torpedo connection to the relay. No continuity in the wire in that section of the harness. Looks like I have a broken wire.

    Any suggestions?

I got her running, it was a bad ground for the solyinoid body. Now she starts runs right up to 3000 and stays there, even with the cables disconnected. She is really giving me a hard thime this go around. Still has the whine. %#$%#@

Follow the clutch switch wires into the headlight bucket. Disconnect the two wires and plug the remaining plugs together. Take the clutch switch and throw it as far as you can.

She is up and running. Applied old wisdom, walk away and come back to it. Throttle cable had slipped out of the linkage sort of.

                          Mr. gustovh,

You do great work! Did you replace the rubber between the cooling fins too? That motor looks nice! Thanks for sharing your fun.

                          Thank you for your indulgence,

                          BassCliff

Yea you'll feel like an idiot if you ever try to start the bike in gear without pulling in the clutch :-D ...personally I like mine cuse I'm used to the newer more elaborate safety setup which allows me to safely start the bike without pulling in the clutch....not saying I'm a idiot who needs the safety all the time but it's worth a million bucks when I have a lapse in thought and try to start the bike in gear with just pushing the button while standing next to it.
