There are riders around here who love their inline fuel filters and have no trouble with them, but for the rest of us these filters are NOTORIOUS for producing the symptoms you describe. Well done on sleuthing it out. Now all you need to do is SLAM DUNK the wretched little thing into the rubbish bin, where it belongs!

MY BIKE DID THE EXACT SAME THING.GS 1000.I replaced the petcock,no more problems.The fuel cap thing is unlikely.I never knew if i was going to get somewhere or not until i replaced it.
