Speedo cable
My bike has gone through three speedo cables in a year and a half, they seem to last about 300km. Anyone have any ideas??? And to anyone who read about the too rich problems i was having last year it turned out to be my pet cock sucking fuel into the #2 carb. ThanksTags: None

OK, they only last 300km or so. What is it that breaks?

The routing is good, they break right at the drive end at the wheel. I have not tried lubing the speedo. I will give that a try. thanks

lube lube lube...
Clymer manual recommends adding lube cables to your annual spring rites of getting the bike back and road ready. It says to unsrew tach and speedo cables and lubing with oil (motor oil?) I just spray WD40 or similar in them. It also recommends lubing the clutch cable and front brake cables too....

I never thought to read the can that says: "Chain and cable wax." In big letters. It works perfectly......I am always reluctant to dump motor oil into a spinning spring....this was the perfect solution on my 26 year old neglected 'zuki and will be part of my annual maintenance.
