As usual, the carbs need a good clean out. Have to admit though, they are a little more gummy than anticipated.
Slide won't move on two of four carbs. Is it okay to put the carb body with slide in the carb dip? Please tell me yes (it's already soaking). I'll pull the slide out as soon as it loosens up enough to get it out.

Carbs are mostly together now, waiting on bowl gaskets...and realized tonight that I damaged two of the pilot fuel screws (the ones next to the float bowl). Must have broken the tips off when seating them to check how far they were out from seated. They had paint on them and it was hard to tell when they were seated.
So now I need two of these things. Noticed that the Keyster kits come with them (but not the K&L kits like I ordered). If anyone has a couple of these things laying around, or know where I can buy some, please shoot me a PM.Ed
To measure is to know.

If you order K&L kits for a 77-78 GS750, they will have the pilots. For some reason the kits for the 1000's don't have them (exact same carb except for the main jet). You can buy those screws individually, too. They are about 20 bucks each. www.motorcyclecarbs.com The kits are cheaper.
If you broke off the tips, they are probably stuck in the little holes, and they will have to come out. Here's a link for you: http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...t=broken+pilot
