    Help!

My 82 1100G gave me fits tonight!

Been parked all winter and I did not do the right thing, I did not drain gas or install STA-Bil,

Got it started and it ran like Hell of course. Plugs fouled up awful, Charcoaled up!! Changed plugs, have battery on charger, Removed bowl drain plugs and sprayed carb cleaner and etc..

I put in some Sta-Bil in the remaining 2 gallons of gas, Will that stuff help now that it is already been there all winter?

    Any Help appreciated.

My suggestion would be to drain the gas and then pour it into an already near-full tank in your car or truck. Since it will mix with better gas it will be diluted and will not likely cause any problems.

Fill the bike with fresh gas and add a fuel injector cleaner to both the bike and the car. Both will respond well.

I agree. Stabil would be worthless at this point. Actually,I think it's kind of worthless at any point. All I've ever done is put a few ounces of gumout into a full tank, run the motor for a few minutes to get the cleaner into the carb, throw a cover over my bike (it sits outside for about 5 months) Haven't had a problem in 20 years.

I've always heard to stay away from fuel injector cleaners because they can mess up o-rings and gaskets used in carbs.

Could be. I always heard to stay away from using carb cleaner in your gas for just that reason. I always use gas treatment in a few of the first tanks of gas when i buy a new((used) bike. I would try gas treatment into some fresh gas and plugs. Take it out for a nice long ride if it will let you. If it doesnt then the carb experts will have to take over from there. Are you sure its the old gas?? I have left gas in bikes for months when i lived up north and never had that trouble.
