    cam timing for 1978 yoshi gs1000

    hello fellow gs,ers ihave aquiered a 1978 gs1000 yoshi motor sadly it was in piecies. is there any one out there who has any spec,s on cam timing or knowes how to i. d. the parts thanks reg

    I don't know if it being a Yoshi motor changes anything,but cam timing on other GS1000's between 104-106 degrees is the best compromise between
    low/mid-range torque and high rpm horsepower.
    And on the seventh day,after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
    Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

      yoshi valve timing gs1000

      hi kieth and thanks for your response. your answer is probably right because i am not using the yosh pistons. i am still interested in the yoshi specs as i have the yoshi pistons unfortunatly the rings are gone. the bore is 73mm i wonder if wiseco will fit? dose any one knowthanks again kieth reg

        Wiseco do 73mm and 73.5m pistons which you could use.
        I have Kent cams in my bike timed to 110 degrees.
