The Chemtool could have something to do with it. It won't hurt anything. I've used half a can in a tank before. If the leak stops go about your business. I'd go a head and use it in a few tanks of gas.

This problem manifested itself again, so I pulled the tank to diagnose the problem, the petcock was dripping. I rebuilt it using the rebuild kit I bought before finding out most people have bad luck with them.

The rebuilt petcock is doing just fine, both with a bench-test and a neighborhood ride. I also fixed the duct-tape mounting solution for one of the pods, so the bike idles better now.

My manual says petcock has no replacable parts and must be replaced as a whole unit.
What was in a rebuild kit and where did you get it ?
