Position the gas can below the fuel tank and gravity will feed the fuel downward to the can. Don't forget to turn the petcock to Prime.Ed

Are you trying to drain the tank or get gas to the carbs?
If you're trying to feed gas to the carbs, it is a gravity feed.
For carb syncs, I have a small plastic tank sold as a universal replacement coolant catch tank for cars. It has several fittings, and you snip the end off one at the bottom to attach a fuel hose. A little deft work with a coat hanger and pliers, and I made a spiffy custom hanger to hang it from the left grip.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
