    Carb Screws

Hi, I have a 1979 GS 750E and am wondering how to set the screws that are on the underside of the carbs. I've heard that you should turn them all the way in and then out two and a half turns. The manual says that they are set by the factory and to leave them alone but I took them out to clean them. Also, does anyone know where to find a decent airbox for this? I found one for $300 online, but thought that was a bit steep.
    Thanks,
    Aubrey

The underside screws are the pilot fuel screws on the VM carbs. I think starting point is 1 turn. The pilot air screws are 1-1/4 turns according to the article in the Garage section of the GSR homepage. http://www.thegsresources.com/files/vm_carb_rebuild.pdf

Yes, one turn out from bottomed is a good starting place. Be sure to bottom them very gently - it's easy to break off the tip which is a Very Bad Thing.

I think I have an air box that fits the '79. I'll dig around this weekend and see what I can find. It won't be in mint condition, but it should work fine. Do you need the air filter holder, side covers and side cover gaskets as well?
