    81 GS450 Engine rebuild

I own a 1981 GS450S. I got it running a few months ago, got about 100 miles on it and the motor died. What happened was i was ridinr, lost all power and now it doesn't stary and makes a weird bottem end noise. Jusding by the noise, neither rod is broken, and i have no clue what happened. The timing chain is fine, and it gets spark.

Now my question is where can i find parts to rebuild the motor. I have found a full gasket set, but that's about it. Also is there anyone that makes uprgade parts, like big bor kits, or pistons, ect. thanks for any help

If you want to do it I would look for a later GS500 motor & do a transplant

I think that's what i will do. I was looking @ that a while ago before the motor went. Is there any piston kits for the 500 to raise the c/r?

Also where can i find 450 parts, i woudl still like tot rebuild the motor for a go-kart or something. thanks

Ebay is your best bet. 450's were made for a lot of years so there is a pretty good supply of used parts.
