    Carb parts

I have a '79 GS 550L with only 2,000 miles. Like many stories, this bike sat for over 10 years in a shed. I am a new member here and grateful for you boys and girls. I need three Fuel Pilot screws, the very sharp ones that screw up through the bottom, not the air pilot screws that go in the side of the carbs.
I have the springs and the o-rings. I also need two bowl gaskets. the bike is really nice. I have been through the carbs in careful cleaning and reassembly. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome!

Welcome, Chip!:-D Believe it or not, lots of parts for your bike are still available through dealers (you'll have to order them) and many others are available on Ebay. The folks here are also a good resource and lots of the guys have lots of spare parts.

I'd suggest you go to the Alpha Sports website and look at the schematic for your bike (it's there) and see if you can figure out the part number. If they're available new, I'm sure they'll be overpriced (like everything else) but I think a bike with 2000 miles on it deserves new ones. Good luck; I'm sure you'll find them without much trouble, one way or another!

Z1 sells a kit for the GS750 that has the pilot fuel screws. I ordered some for my 550 VM carb rebuild. Unfortunately, they are out of stock at the moment. There are various rebuild kits available, some of which come with the screws you need. Look at ebay or wait on Z1.

Z1 Enterprises specializes in quality Motorcycle parts for Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha Classic Japanese motorcycles from the 1970's and 1980's.

I have extra bowl gaskets. I can give you two of them if you want them. They're for VM carbs right?
