    Carb vent tubes

This may sound like a lame question, but I have searched and not found an answer.
I got my '81 GS1000GX with the carbs already removed, so I don't know where the vent tubes routed to nor how long they were.
    Can anyone help me out?
I also noticed that the tubes from the carbs to the airbox are quite loose fitting, do they need to be sealed to the box in some fashion?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

On my '81 1100E, they route back up under the seat and fit under the supports. I can provide a pic if needed.

As for them being loose, they're probably old and should be replaced.

      Thanks for the info Brad.
On my G it seems it would be an awful long run to bring the tubes under the seat.
I will definitely look into getting some some new airbox tubes.

on the G the vent lines go down right behind the engine through the guides cast into the back of the case.

they give over flowing gas someplace to go.
