Id check your running battery voltage. Hope its above 14 vdc. After that Id start cleaning all the connectors in the headlight bucket with contact cleaner. Good Luck....

My horns sounded like a dead goose until I cleaned the connections and applied dielectric grease. I would also check the charging system and battery.

After checking the connections and getting them as good as you can, tune them. On the back of the horn is a screw with a locknut. Loosen the locknut, turn the screw while activating the horn. You will be surprised at how LOUD your stock horns can be.

If all that does not work, measure the voltage at the horn terminal while horns are quiet, then again when they are sounding. If it is much lower than when they are quiet, the supply wire is too small. Install a "cube-type" fog light relay (found at your favorite auto parts store or Wal-Mart), and use a 12-gauge wire from the battery to the relay, then another 12-gauge from the relay to the horns, and another 12-gauge to ground. Use the original horn wires to trigger the relay. This will assure they will get all the electrons they can use. \\/

I always wondered what that screw and locknut was for. Thanks Steve! One more thing I can fvck with. \\/
