    Unsticking a stuck ring

How have you guys unstuck piston rings?

I have two pistons that are unworn and still have the hone marks on the cylinders and the machining on the piston but the rings have fallen in love with their groove.

permanent magnets? Pb plaster helped some but im um STUCK

I've heard MMO, SeaFoam, or ATF. Or all three -- can't hurt.

Those rings are done for anyway, I wouldn't trust their "springiness" after I freed them up. If they are already out of the engine, drop the whole works into ATF or diesel or some form of dip, and then let them sit for a while, maybe days once the rings seem loose enough to get out an end break 'em out and get a new set.
