    4-2 aftermarket exhaust

has anyone tried mating aftermarket slip ons (ie for a newer gsxr1000) and weilding them onto the existing stock headers or a worst(more expensive) case a mac header junction. My bikes too quiet!! I dont like 4-1 exhaust so thats not an option.. has anyone ever seen or tried this?????

And what's wrong with a quiet bike?

I would love to find something a bit quieter for my wife's 850L, or at least something that doesn't sound quite so raspy when on the throttle. Either an early system without the crossover, or a very quiet 4-into-1 would be nice. I love the sound of 4-into-1, but most of them are too loud for me. 8-[

What model bike are you on?
I have a used 4-2 Kerker I would be willing to part with. It was on a gs1150. I am not sure but would think it should fit an 1100 and maybe even others.

Those 'L model' exhausts sound pretty raspy; sound quite a bit different than the other mufflers Suzuki uses. Must have something to do with the way the gases are routed inside the muffler. I know this because I have two 550's, an 81 T model and 79 E w/L exhaust. I've also heard a 1000L the other day and the sound is the same as my 550L exhaust.

An L exhaust might be the ticket to the OP of this thread. For you Steve, you might want to look for a regular G model exhaust for your wife's bike.

I have seen Jama replacements mated to stock headers, the joint can be hidden behind the heat sheild. This was with a chrome system, not the black one. I also like the Jama sound, it is deeper than the stock sound and at idle or around town it is mellow, but not obnoxiously loud.

I'm not a terribly big fan of the 4-1 Kerker on my bike either, I like the dual pipe look, looks more balanced.

Maybe I should try trading someone for a MAC 4-2....
