I should have known, since this is the tech forum!

Just heat them up with a small torch. You should be able to remove them with a pair of pliers.
You'll damage the paint though, but I wouldn't know of any other way.

                      nipples

well i have tried every thing today and ive had to admit defete.
both nipples have sheared clean off.
i thought about drilling them out but when i stripped the caliper i found both pistons were totaly solid.
think its time for a replacement.
thanx for your advice any way.
                      best wishes dave.

a good soaking with wd-40 and a pair of vice grips should do the trick.

                              Whatever turns your crank.
Anyway, I use liquid wrench and a small pair of vice grips working the stuck part back and forth until it comes loose.
If it snaps off, I fill the hole with liquid wrench, let it sit overnight then drive an easy out into the hole and work it out.
