    Oil level quick question

Ok where should the oil level be on my sight glass for my 82 GS650 GLZ ? Should it be half covered? all the way? I dont want to overfill it. Thanks1

Top of the sight glass is perfect. If you changed the filter fill it to the top of the window and run the bike for a few minutes and check again.

If you can't tell where the level is, try tipping the bike just a bit either way to see if the level appears. If it's high, you need to drain some oil and find out why it's high. If it's low, it takes less than half a quart to raise it from the lower mark on the sight glass to the top mark.

On the centre stand, resting on the rear tire my oil wil be in the upper half of the window with 3.5L of oil in the engine. If I let it rest on the front wheel with that much oil in it it won't show in the window.
        You take it from there.
