Clip-on bar stock?
Does anyone know if it is possible to buy 7/8" aluminum tubular stock to make longer bars? I have my windsheild attached to the tubes, and now need about an extra inch of bar to get new grips on.8-[Tags: None

i am not totally sure about the question but 7/8ths is very common. most bike shops worth their salt should have a bunch of universal bars available. i like the superbike type- they are longer but rearrange your stance a bit

Do you want it in solid or hollow stock....solid will reduce vibration...just get it strong enough..

catfish, the 83 has clip ons, so the bar just slides into the clamp, i just need straight pipe or bar, the problem with buying replacement bars, is
they're the same frickin' length as the ones on my bike. That is why I need bar stock to cut. I will try a supplier.
Is T6 strong enough?

Or an 8 foot hunk of aluminum structural tube is $29.06. It's only available in 6063 alloy, which may or may not work for you. You can also explore various steel alloys...Last edited by bwringer; 09-06-2007, 01:24 PM.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
