    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Sprocket Quality

Hi guys,
It's time for me to order a new set of sprockets and get a chain cut. What quality of sprockets are best for matching the lifetime of a good o-ring chain? This is for my 400 which runs 530 chain. When at the dealer I was offered normal sprockets for 60$CDN and OEM quality Sunstar(?) stuff at 100$ but the guy thought I should go for the cheaper stuff.

I expect to get 30,000km out of my new set with a lot of highway riding as well as riding in the rain and on dirt roads (sometimes all three at the same time too...)

Aluminum sprockets from Vortex, Sunstar, and Sprocket Specialties are real pretty and light. Then can not compare to the durability of a set of steel sprockets. For those kind of km's use a set of stock steel Suzuki sprockets; you will get the most life out of those by far.

They are an easily changed device that allows one motorcycle to be raced both on hilly tracks and flat tracks. Bikes without said sprockets have to resort to such things as swapping tires for ones with smaller outside diameters, lyposuction and nitrous oxide when faced with hills. :P

When I had my 77 550, I bought steel aftermarket sprockets from my local dealer. The rear sprocket ran about $30 US bucks and the front about $15. I bought a Regina o-ring chain also. The aftermarket sprockets were as good as the OEM sprockets, and saved me a few bucks.

Well, I'm ready to look at sprockets again. I haven't worn my driveline out yet...I've only had them on since April. But I do need to buy a set to take with me on a trip. I'm taking tires too, K591 with only 2500km has worn to 1.5mm................................................................on a wussy 400CC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laugh all you want shafty's, I can take a joke!!! :P

Anyway, what's up with R.O.C.? I did a search on here but couldn't find anything about them. Sunstar and Sprocket Specialists go for the same price as OEM at my dealer but ROC is half price.
