    Tank Dent

I've mysteriously had my GS850 gas tank dented. The paint is fine and the metal is not creased. Any chance a paintless repair shop could fix this or may I get other suggestions. Bummed!

I used a paintless dent puller tool from Harbor Freight and it worked well. It will not get out dents with creases but if you have a shallow dent, and work carefully, you can get it out with acceptable results.

I saw a video not too long ago where they heated up the dent really warm with a hair dryer on full blast, then took a can of compressed air (the kind used to clean computer parts, not really air but some other gas), shook it up, inverted it, and "froze" the dent. If you wait until the frost completely evaporates, the dent will pop right out.

I have never actually done this, but in the video there was no damage to the paint, it was a large dent and you couldn't tell anything had happened afterward.

I have used the "Ding King", a similar tool with great results. (I think I got it at Advance Auto Parts)

I agree, as long as there was not a crease it always got the dent out!\\/

I tried this on my tank and it did not work. I think the metal is too thick for this technique.
