    comp. level ???

    Hi
    Anyone that have any experience regarding higher comp. than the standard comp. on "street bike" projects ???
    How did you do it and how mutch are a "slightly" increasing of the compression ??

    Milling the head will raise comp a little. If you want to run pump gas without pinging I wouldn't go too far over 10.5.

      If you start milling the head and making changes You MUST degree the cams, With the quality of todays gas I would stick with stock compression
      unless you plan on using race gas which can get expensive

        I think this is a step missed by most home brewed mechanics.
        1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
        1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

            Yes, I`m living in Norway, approx 100 km south east of Oslo in a small city named Horten .
            ( I`m working on the picture case.. )

            This is a very nice forum to discuss our problems/projects with quick response and some good solutions for people worldwide like me that try to taking care of theyr old bike and some of us make a special edition of our bikes.
            So, thank you for charing your experiance and nowledge with others.
