    Extreme play/sloppiness in shift lever?

This is terrible. The lever wobbles all over the place and even scrapes the frame.

What is the typical problem here?

    1986 GSXR 750.

Is the lever Loose on the Shaft or is the shaft itself Loose? One is a MUCH bigger problem than the other.

The shaft is fine, it's the lever that has all kind of play.

Plus, there is a "housing" of some sort (has a bunch of holes in it) that sits behind the lever, and it looks like someone goobed it up with JB weld or something...

So, I'll have to investigate exactly what is damaged there.

Either way, I've got a bit of a winter project ahead of myself!!!

That's Good, the Shaft didn't Need to be Loose, the rest can be Repaired or Replaced.:-D
