    Airbox to carbs problem....

I notice that the 4 rubber connections between the airbox and the carbs is just barely, barely making contact and I think it's leaking almost for sure. I'm stumped because the airbox appears to be positioned correctly and is bolted in place just as it's supposed to be. Also, the carb connection at the front looks just right, too. Any ideas??? Thanks!!

Remove the bolts where the airbox attaches to the frame and push the airbox forward as far as it will go. This will push the airbox boots further onto the carbs. You can also take a large screwdriver and sort of pry the boots forward and onto the carbs. Tighten up the band clamps and then push the airbox backward and reattach the screws. Worked on my 550's.

I have a 1982 1100 GL and there are no rubber lines from the carbs to the airbox. I'll have to look at the bike today and see where they "should" be routed to the airbox.
