GS550E 78 big bore kit
Hi all, I am looking around to see if anyone has seen the Wiseco big bore kit (620cc) for the early model GS550. I believe it was available a number of years ago but was discontinued. Any leads would be appreciated.

Put a top end off a GS650E on it. Search the posts by "Nerobro", or PM him. I'm sure He'll point you in the right direction.

I get the impression that "top end" might include the cylinders and pistons, too. 8-[

For my twopenn'orth the Wiseco kit, whilst nicely made and a quality item, isn't worth the expenditure. I fitted one many moons ago on a bike long since sold. The kit was second hand then but still cost me a good few shillings. I also had some special cams and played with various carbs. You can make a 550 quicker but the power gains per dollar are pretty low. I think I would have been better advised to lighten the bike - they are pretty heavy stock.

Cheers Don
P.S. That means I can give my 550B some more zip. All I have to do is find one. Is the 550 and 650 bottom end all the same.
