    New coils available?

Hi everyone. Bought new HT cable for my gs550. After taking off coils, i think ive destroyed the coil by trying to remove ht cable. Seems to be a sealed unit. Anyone know where i can buy a new set of coils for 1981 gs550

    Thanks

Coils are still available from Suzuki - not cheap though... http://houseofmotorcycles.bikebandit...x-1981/o/m6085

Of course, there is always ebay or aftermarket. Z1 sells Dyna coils for a fair price http://z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=210

Before spending any money you should make sure your old coils are truely unusable. If there is still any HT cable remaining, you can add a splicer and connect a new piece of cable. You can also try to dig the old cable out - it can be done if you want to work hard enough at it http://www.xs11.com/tips/repair/repair24.shtml

If there is nothing wrong with your coils, why replace 'em?
You can dig out the wire and install new ones from the auto parts store.
        Cheap fix.
