    Small Video explaining my question.

Alright basically my front sprocket has ALOT of play in it. It can't be normal. BUT I wouldn't know so I'm asking you tech gurus for help once again.

Basically I'm thinking that the PO put a 630 sprocket on and I know that these bikes take a 530

And the second part of the video is me pointing at a sensor on top of the sprocket (captain obvious I know). What sensor is it? I'm guessing its for the gear indicator?

Can't comment on gear, I own a shaft. It seems as if the gear needs a bushing or spacer to position it correctly. I am certain it is not supposed to slide like that. Being able to rock it suggests that it is worn excessively too. I would replace with new gear asap.

The sensor is the gear position sensor as you guessed.

Like the video question format, would be great with audio. The thousand words to a picture helps explain problem quickly.

There's a washer that goes in front of the sprocket, then the nut.

and yes, the 'sensor' is for the gear indicator.

Your missing the washer that goes in front of the sprocket before you put the nut on. It still seems like even with the missing washer you would still have too much wiggle. The lock washer isn't that thick. I would wonder if the nut or sprocket were wrong. The nut looks different than the one I have on my bike. I don't know if it will help, but here is the original parts schematic.

Alright for verification there is a lock washer. Its there. But its on the shaft after the splines end. I also checked bikebandit and their fiche shows that my bike doesn't take anything else. Just the sprocket, lock washer and nut. More than likely its a wrong sprocket. Thanks for all the help though guys i appreciate it

The lock washer is supposed to be large diameter sheet metal washer that is folded down on the nut flat to keep the nut from backing off. I don't see the washer in the video but you say it's there so I'm not sure what's going on.

                  Good luck.

                      Need a spacer ! Does it have a 530 chain? Converting from a 630 to 530 requires a spacer.

I think we are looking at a 550 which means it came with a 530 chain stock.

I don't think it should have so much wiggle in it either. Back and forth could mean a washer is missing or maybe the correct sprocket has a shuolder built into it like some Kawi sprockets have. Looks like it may be the wrong pitch...shouldn't wiggle like it does if the splines fit right. Back and forth with too thin a sprocket...yes...but no wiggle from side to side...at least not as much as it looks like it does. I think you are onthe right track with the wrong sprocket idea.

Yes indeed we are and yes it does. It has a washer on. Just not a large diameter one. I'll order them both either way. I'll let you guys know what happens

It looks like an aftermarket sprocket to me. If memory serves me correct the originals came with a cush drive bolted to the sprocket. You had to make a sprocket shim up to fit over the shaft to take up the play.

The sprocket shouldn't move forward and backwards like that on the shaft either. I would check the splines on the shaft for wear and also the sprocket to confirm which or if both have worn down. If its the shaft then thats a strip the bottom case off and fit a new shaft and bearings. Lots of work and fun....

                              Suzuki mad.
