has anyone changed shims on a 79 gs850? is it hard? how long does it take? what tools are needed? thanksTags: None

I think Basscliff documented it..... It's pretty simple. You need one special tool plus a metric feeler gauge set & some replacement shims if any of them need swapping out.
z1 enterprises can kit you out with all of it. You won't find any cheaper.

Please visit my little BikeCliff website (link in my sig) to download a Suzuki Shop Manual and a valve adjustment pictorial guide. If you send Mr. Steve an email he will send you the latest version of his Excel spreadsheet to help you calculate, track, and document the shims you'll use and need. It's not hard. Just get all the parts and tools you need before you start. Let us know if you have questions.
