    Handle Grips

Dumb question, but i'm going to ask anyways.
I recently replaced my handle bars and bought some universal grips. Well, the throttle on my bike has this plastice piece that the grip does not cover like the original. I don't know a lot about bikes, so i don't know if all bikes are like this, or just the older ones like mine. I've got a 79 GS425L
Can i cut off this piece of plastic, or are there grips out there that will cover it. The way it is, it doesn't fit right.

I hope this make some sense. If not, let me know and i'll take a picture of the throttle and show you what i'm talking about.

    Thanks

so you cut the plastic lip thing off that's right beside the start button module?

That plastic lip was originally covered by the suzuki rubber grip and it's there to stop the rubber moving in towards the switch gear and jamming. You can remove it but make sure that your grip won't slide to the left and jam your throttle open.

Is cutting it off the only way to remove it?
