Grounding Problems

Is there any way that you can protect those places that are known problems with grounding, such as the different places on the frame where grounding wires go, like putting any goop on them? Or is this just destined to be some type of unwanted nuisance?

Two words...DIELECTRIC GREASE. Not only promotes conductivity but displaces moisture. Two more words...great stuff, if it is a corrosion issue, dielectric grease will take care of the problem.

so i guess the routine is to a. separate the wiring to the frame. b. use fine sandpaper to clean the spots. c. treat with a dab of grease and reconnect tightly.

I had a dog and his name was BINGO! That should do you fine. While you're at it, it wouldnt hurt to dab a little on ALL your connection points, especially with wet nasty weather coming on. Will keep them shiney and clean come spring, and you wont have any electrical gremlins jump out at you when you go to roll her out that first sunny day

While the dielectric grease is a good idea for most of the grounding spots, thats not good enough for the path that provides the R/R ground.
Replace that with a dedicated wire from the R/R ground directly to the battery ground.

Its important enough that I made it my sig some time ago. :-D
