    Bandit carbs on a GS1000?

    Hey guys.
I might be able to get my hands on a set of bandit12k carbs 32mm keihin.
My GS has the 34cvs at the moment.
    Has anyone done this?
    Is there any advantage?
Should I just stage 3 my current 34s or hunt for some flatslides of a gixxer?
    Ideas

The B12's use Mikuni BST36 mm carbs I think...the Keihin 32's are probably off of another bike?

I tried to put a set of 36mm 2002 B12 carbs on my GS1000, no dice. The carb spacing's all wrong. I have the same 34 mm intake head as you. Maybe a set from an earlier B12 model will work?

      This might help too:

        Hi Tony
        Thanks for the heads up.
This is the info i was given.

        keihin.
        vacuum.
        32 mm.
external diameter to airbox 50 mm
external diameter to engine 38 mm
        spacing ( centre to centre ) 80 mm, 84 mm ( between centre carbs ), 80 mm.
        main jet .95
        pilot jet .35
off suzuki GS 1200 SS, suit performance 400 or 600.
        good + condition

I did some checking and they are off a 600 bandit.
        I think I'll give them a miss.
        Cheers

Carb spacing on the oil cooled & air cooled engines are the same the intake rubbers may need changing to run the later carbs due the sizes ! 600/ 750f cv carbs fit gs100's & gsx1100's but are tight in the rubbers they work well once re-jetted to suit (yes ive done it :-D) they dont fit in the airbox tho so its pod filters if you go down this route

          hope it helps :-D

In your experience (Tone), is it possible to use the early Gixxer carbs on a GSX1100 by simply adjusting and changing jets, or is the Dynojet kit (with its different needles) mandatory?
            Tony.

Ive used 750f carbs on a gsx11 without a DJ kit but expect plenty of messing around with jets, plug chops air screws & sinc to get smooth power throughout the rev range, partly because you will also have to use pod filters the same applies for any carb swap really

fitting DJ kit also invoves much of the same so theres not much to be gained there exept a base setting

the main thing to watch with gixer cv carbs is that the emulsion tubes are not worn oval or you will be chasing your tail forever

if you can get any of the cv carbs in the intake rubbers or swap rubbers to fit them they will work well but patience (or a good dyno operator) is needed :-D

Didn't the later bandits have Throttle Position Sensors. The boys bandit1200 isn't in the garage anymore, so I can't look

Hehe, I was wondering what that electronic plug was for on those Bandit carbs....

Anyone need a set of 2002 B12 carbs with a Dale Walker jet kit and K&N pod filters?

not sure on the later bandits as i'm too poor to own one :-D but all the 1200's from 96 on had the tps early 600f 750f & the oil cooled gsxr's didnt have it fitted
