to "do the ton" is to hit 100mph...a big deal when the phrase was coined back in the late 50s. Its a bit of cafe racer slang. There were biker "groups" (not really gangs, tho they were, but ppl tend to associate biker gangs with the Outlaws and such) like The Ton Up Boys and the Rockers that used to take their bikes and strip them down of every thing but what was needed to ride, turn or go faster. Thus the cafe race bike was born...in actuality the term 'cafe' bike was somewhat derrogotory, insinuating that the bike was no good for anything but riding from cafe to cafe (more or less a cafe was a truck stop then)

Not sure...i dunno what gasket you are talking about...chances are that if it had a gasket there..then it needs fixed.

its more like a rubber cover with a vent hole that cover the bigger hole on the air box

thats weird..they dont. Does it have a box on the back of the aircleaner box or just the filter inside that one box? They dont list a replacement part for it at all either...

                            Checking another site...

no luck there either...my guess it needs to be sealed if the intake is at the bottom where the filter is.
