Are you talking about the airbox side covers and sealing them up with weatherstripping? I would be more concerned with the foam filter cage and sealing the top of it so air doesn't bypass the filter. When I first got my '83 GS1100G the foam filter was rotten and the stripping on top was missing pieces. So I removed, cleaned and scraped the cage completely and used weatherstripping ($2) from the hardware store along with new foam filter ($15) bought at the local Suzuki dealer to seal up. I used the shop vac to clean up any pieces in the airbox too. You'll have to match the right thickness of weatherstripping to fit the gap otherwise it will be too loose and let air bypass or too thick and peel off as you're trying to slide the filter cage back in place. Or I think you can buy the whole air filter assembly for $40?
Maybe this is why most people get rid of the stock airbox?
