Which sort of GS1100?
Chain drive? (1100E)
Screw and locknut adjusters, 16V
Shaft drive? (1100G or GL)
Shim over bucket, 8V
Either way, http://z1enterprises.com should have what you need.
http://bikebandit.com will also have these tools, but they're nearly impossible to find on their crappy site.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.

I suspect you have the screw and locknut adjusters, so here's the tool set you would need:
Z1 Enterprises specializes in quality Motorcycle parts for Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha Classic Japanese motorcycles from the 1970's and 1980's.
This tool set will also allow you to make valve adjustments on many other random motorcycles that may come your way.
You'd also want two feeler gauges of the correct thickness:
Z1 Enterprises specializes in quality Motorcycle parts for Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha Classic Japanese motorcycles from the 1970's and 1980's.
For the 8-valve engines, here's the shim tool:
Z1 Enterprises specializes in quality Motorcycle parts for Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha Classic Japanese motorcycles from the 1970's and 1980's.
Shims are $4.75 each:

To loosen the valve adjusters on a 16v (GSX)GS1100 all you need is a detent 9mm spanner, to turn the adjusters use the correct tool, a lot of people try to use pliers etc you just stuff the adjusters, for the correct tool see above.
