Parts Interchangeability For 84 Katana 750

Does anybody know what parts are interchangeable between the GS 750/700 series (83-86 ish time frame) and a 1984 Katana GSX 750S (Pop up headlight version)? Main things I'm looking for are: consumables (Tires, chain, sprockets, brake pads) and an ignition switch. Need an ignition switch but am having trouble sourcing one (of course I haven't really tried). Just wondering if, say, an aftermarket unit like an EMGO would work?

I know the GS 750 from 83 and the Katana 84 are basically the same machine with bodywork differences, but much more specific than that and I couldn't tell you...

    Thanks!!

I've never seen one in the flesh but, from what I can see in photos, it looks like there is not to much in common between the two other than the engine. Hopefully a member here that owns one can chime in.... Otherwise I would try to contact a dealer in Canada.

I sourced an ignition switch for an 83 Katana at Daytona Motorsports in Surrey B.C. It mounts between the upper triple and the speeo/tach unit.

Canadian salvage yards might be a good place to look.
      GS\'s since 1982: 55OMZ, 550ES, 750ET, (2) 1100ET\'s, 1100S, 1150ES. Current ride is an 83 Katana. Wifes bike is an 84 GS 1150ES

Hell if thats the switch you need, i have one with key off an 80 750E..a switch is a switch. Just so long as thats the way it mounts on your bike.

The 83 750 Katana switches are an entireley different design and won't match my 84. I have an 82 Kat 1000 (which is identical to the 83 750 minus the motor and the sidestand warning light) so can speak with some degree of authority on this....
Just wondering if I can find a switch off a 750ES/ESF/EF'etc... will it fit.

I'll try to check with Daytona Motorsports...

          Thanks for the help.
