    Ohms values?

    Gday all,
Im currently chasing the coil specs primary and secondary resistance values for a GSX1100 efe 84 model.
Ive searched the web to the best of my very limited ability but no sch luck.
Buying one really isnt an option as Im not really needing any other info as Im not using any other component from the bike.
    Cheers
    Sidey

    Mr. Sidecar44,

My manual for the GS1000e/f says 2 to 6 ohms for the primary and 11K to 17K ohms for the secondary. But there may be a slight difference for your model. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. Perhaps someone will be along soon with the manual for your exact model. I'll just give myself a blue screen of death now. :-D

    Thank you for your indulgence,

    BassCliff

You mean 11,000 to 17,000 ohms or 11K to 17K ohms, right?

        Mr. Jaguarjoe,

Yes, you are correct. I apologize for my oversight. I will edit my previous post.

check both to see if there even close to each other. wright down the ohms reading. if you have a budy or a bike scrap yard neer you should be able to find the same coil. check the ohms on theres.

run the bike till its hot then recheck. some times the coil will brake down during a heating cycle.

it is all ways a good ideal when the cash is there to update the coil, and keep the old set for truble shooting.

if your bike has points. i would check the capotor for brake down. a cheap trick is to find out how many mf your cap is then get one at radio shack that matches. put some crimp ends on it then swap out the caps. just rember to put the ground end to the frame.
