    gaskets

can i use gasket material to make a gasket for the starter motor cover and stator cover?

    #2
The starter cover gasket doesn't really do anything at all (maybe it helps keep it from rattling?), so it can be omitted.

You can make a stator cover gasket if you like -- it will need to be oiltight, so I hope you have plenty of time and steady hands. The stock gasket is very thin, so don't use the thick stuff. But it can be done.

You can also, of course, order the stator gasket from your favorite Suzuki parts source for $7 or so, and CRC2 ( http://crc2onlinecatalog.com ) also sells them individually.

That is probably a little thicker than original, but it'll be fine.
