    Exhaust bolt torque specs GS700

I'm storing my buddy's bike here for the winter and am doing a couple of touch-ups to it just to be a nice guy. Figured it'd be a nice surprise in the spring. Problem is that I don't have a manual for his bike, so I need the torque specs for the exhaust bolts.

    Anyone got 'em?

    Thanks,
    /Mike

6 mm studs 80~90 inch pounds

    8mm studs/bolts 12~15 FOOT/lbs use anti sieze also

re tighten after a couple heat cycles

because of the extreme heat I think a little loose is better than stripped, neuclear tight, or broken. it has to be just tight enough to prevent a noisy leak.

start all the bolts before you tighten any of them. at the head end the rear mounts. then evenly tighten the bolts while you jiggle / shake the pipes to get them to seat in.

          UncleMike,

If you want a manual to go along with your "surprises" you can download it here for free:

The 1983 GS750 is functionally the same bike as the 700, just a few cosmetic differences (and 50cc).
