My 850 will do almost 80 in 2nd.

Ness, would you mind throwing a tape measure around that 17" wheel? I am not so sure that the 16" wheels affect the gearing any, as the tire is wider, therefore taller, maintaining the same (more or less) outer diameter of the tire. I have a 16" tire here that I can measure for comparison.

Both of my 550's have 120 tires, one is a 17 and the other is 18. Didn't want to go too wide on the 17 since the wheel width is the same as the 18. From stock, the 18 inch tire was smaller than the 17 equalizing a good bit of the diameter difference. Still have the stock tires from both bikes so comparing the OD on those might be even more telling than measuring mine with aftermarket tires. Will report back later tonight.
