Quick stupid gs450 master cylinder question

How do I remove the master cylinder/piston from the housing? I have the lever off the bike and the banjo has been removed. I can't seem to see how I would go about removing the master cylinder. Do i grab it with pliers and pull it out the back? Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

I think there is probably some kind of circlip/snap ring in there that you have to take out first....

Have a look at the Fiche on Bikebandit, you should be able to see on the exploded drwg.

Remove the rubber boot covering the piston - be careful or the boot will tear. Once you get it off you will see a circlip down in the bore. Special long nose circlip plyers are necessary to get to the clip. Z1 Enterprises, among other places, sell the pliers.
