GS1000 Recommended Valve adjustment intervals

Hello group,

Can anyone tell me at what mileage interval Suzuki calls for the valves to be adjusted on a '78 GS 1000, especially, the 1st adjustment.

I can't locate this spec in the Owner's manual. If it is mentioned there, can you tell me on what page? Same question for the Suzuki Service manual.

My manual for the 82 1100E calls for the first one at 600 miles, then 4,000 miles. Then 7,500, 11,000, and 15,000 miles.
I figure they'd all probably be pretty close to same frequency.

pjackson is right. The factory service manual gives the intervals he mentioned on page 3-2

I have found that once the valves have bedded in they rarely change...10-20,ooo kms intervals are more likely without any shim changes.
