    New to CV carbs... compatability?

    Hi,

I have a 1979 GS1000EN bike with VM26's on it. I want to put a 1982 GS1100 GK top end on it (8 valve). Which years / models of CV carbs will work on this bike? any BS34SS from a 850 /1000 /1100 /1150?

I am planning on a jet kit and pods for this bike.

    Thanks!

Are you sure those heads are interchangable? I don't think they are unless you plan on making it work.
Any rack of BS34SS carbs should work with the correct jetting.
1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
    1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

      850s only had 32mm carbs. 8-[

I was told the head would bolt right on to mine. The cams and cam chain have the same part # on them as the 79 GS1000. I will put the 73mm pistons on my stock crank.

I asked in the technical and they gave me a go as long as I kept it an 8 valve as the 79 is an 8 valve as well.

        Thanks!
