    Don, I can give you the recipe for another good cleaning solution as the components are easy to find. Use equal parts kerosine, mineral spirirts (or turpentine) and automatic transmission fluid. You can also add in an equal part of acetone as long as you put nothing plastic or rubber in the solution.

    This is an old recipe for a firearm cleaning solution called "Ed's Red" and it works great.

      Thanks Mark. Is this solution good for cleaning carb bodies and all the small orifices within, including the varnish buildup, etc.

        Sounds like a pretty mild solution. Might work on carbs but you would have to leave them in for a good long while.
