    Carb differences

Hello fellow members. As some of you may know i've been looking for a #2 carb body for a 1980 GS750L. A fellow member has offered just the body off a 82 GS1100E. I checked alphasports for part numbers, and while the body part numbers are different (mine is 13202-45400 and the 82 GS1100E is 13202-49220) many of the internal parts are the same (with the exception of the jet needle, needle jet, air mixture screw, throttle valve, pilot and main jets) My question is would this carb body work for me? My biggest concern is the different in the part number for the throttle valve - mine is part number 13551-45400 and the GS1100E is 13551-49200..both are listed as 135 though...so i don't know. Do this parts cross reference or anything like that?

I'm not sure, about the size of the 80 750 carb, but the 85 GS700 carbs are 32mm, vs the GS1100's 34mm. My guess is that the 750 uses the 32's, but again, I'm not sure, so measure your 750 carbs to find out.

the 80 750 carb is 32 mm too. Sounds like this body won't work. I'll have the seller measure the outlet to make sure.

Hi there. Its not the size of the outlet that matters, it is the size of the venturie. You need to measure inside the carb where the slide rises and falls. The outlet where the air cleaner tubes attach slopes down to a smaller size inside the carb. This is the crirical measurement. If one carb flows more air than the others it will just not work.
