    Real gasket ?

Will a Real gasket valve cover gasket mess up my tachometer gear? They are qiute a bit thicker than stock. I have an 81 GS 1100 E
    Thanks

One guy with a 550, which has the gear in the cover, reported problems. Works great on an 850 though that doesn't.

If the tach drive is in the valve cover don't use it.
If it's in the head then you'll be fine.

Personally I don't really like them, they are a pain to torque properly & getting it to lay on the head is like laying out spaghetti. It's impossible to do without getting some oil or something on it.

I have one on my 1000G but just put a greased stock one on the 78 to see if that's better. You can buy about 4 aftermarket stock ones for the price of the real.
