    Shift light?

I'm currently running no gauges on my bike, and absolutely love it this way. I like not having anything between my face and the road - I've got a headlight setup off a Buell and even like the extra visibility I gained using that, even if I'm not looking down there (meaning I don't even like the rise in the middle of the round light I was running before).

However, there are some issues with that. The only think I currently run is an oil light, as it's... bad if you lose oil pressure and don't know. I'm considering tossing a bicycle speedometer on, which will help me know how fast I'm going without getting in the way of my vision. My dad has tested one up to 140 or so, meaning the right ones certainly work.

I don't have a tach though, and it's difficult to get one that's small enough. Is there any sort of shift light I can buy that's fairly small and can be triggered at a few different RPMs? I'd like 3 or 4 lights - 6k, 9k, 9.5k, 10k or something like that, although even just one light would be enough. I can't even find any small shift lights though, they all seem to be 5" long and 2" across when I'm more looking to just throw a couple LEDs between the clipons.

    Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

My only suggestion is that you show us a picture of this bike.

edit: ugh, let me go rehost that...
edit2: I think this should work
edit3: it's getting a front end/rear wheel swap soon... soon meaning it would be this weekend but sporttour sent me 2 rear tires instead of a front and a rear. 1990 GSXF "Katana" front end and rear wheel.

          I just thought...
Dyna makes a motorcycle specific shift light and a shift light module. I don't know if you would have to have a Dyna ignition though.

check Z1enterprises and look under the ignition section for your bike.

Nevermind I have it here. It shouldn't matter but this is under my bike's listing.

yeah, but it's $150 for a shift light... that's a bit more than I'd like to spend.

as for the other one, that requires a dyna setup.

I think you'd want some air between you face and the road, at least!

haha of course... I even wear a full face (well, flip face most of the time but the chin is always down) helmet so I'm not saying that I have nothing there... just not much, and I like it that way. I loved the change from the round light to the duals though, even during the daytime.

If there's some sort of cheap ignition setup I can swap to I'd be happy to do that instead, but I'm assuming that a replacement ignition that gives me a rev limiter will be more expensive.
