Need PN/source for petcock with 50mm center to center bolts?
Sorry if this is an FAQ...I just got a new petcock Suzuki part number: 44300-44011. According to my dealer this was the correct part for my 79 GS1000. As usual they were wrong. This part has 44mm c to c bolt holes. My tank has 50mm. Thought I'd check here with someone I trust rather than call the dealer again. Thanks in advance.

I think the oddball 1980 "no lever" petcock is the 50mm jobby. Z1 Enterprises sells an aftermarket version that's a little cheaper than OE.Ed
To measure is to know.

Think outside the tank
Hi Mr. justinmcgiver,
Mr. focus frenzy found that a Harley petcock fit very nicely. Check this thread and perhaps send him a PM to get more information.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff

Well my frame # is 517740...I think that makes the bike a '79 GS1000EN? Is this correct? If so then someone must have changed the tank...

I got my petcock from Z1 last night and someone has changed the tank on mine (I think). The 44mm bolt to bolt was correct, but the plastic part that goes up into the tank is just barely too wide to fit through the hole in my tank. Gonna have to retun I suppose.
