Where is the oil pressure regulator ???

I have an 82 GS450 with no oil pressure.
I have hooked up an oil pressure gauge per the shop manual, and at 3k I have about 5 psi. Installed new oil pump and filter with no change.
Suspect the oil pressure regulator is stuck open, but cannot find the reg.
Dealer said drop the pan, and it will be right there, wrong !!

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Greg M

I just looked at the crankshaft fiche for your bike and I see plain bearing inserts, so it should be a higher-pressure oiling system than 5 psi.

Not sure exactly how much higher, but the manual for the 650s calls for 43-78 psi at 3,000 rpm.

I don't see anything about a pressure regulator, so there is a chance that the oil pump itself needs to be replaced.

Regulator bolts to the oil pan - item 6 or 7.

Drop the pan and see if the screen is clogged, a number of riders found their sump loaded up and restricting oil intake
